I've briefly been able to run the game by disabling Games for Windows Live, which solved the crashes on xlive.dll, but the next time I tried to play the game, it crashed after loading again. I've also tried reinstalling DirectX 9 and Parallels Tools. I've tried many of the fixes that have been suggested online, but none have worked so far, including the multi-core fix. The fault offset and exception code are the exact same, regardless of when the game crashes, but the faulting module is either Fallout3.exe or xlive.dll. "Faulting application Fallout3.exe, version 1.7.0.3, time stamp 0x4a40f18b, faulting module Fallout3.exe, version 1.7.0.3, time stamp 0x4a40f18b, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x006ddf7b, process id 0圆b8, application start time 0x01ccc8e0f891f463." I found the following error in the Windows event log: Sometimes the game will start OK, but will crash within a minute of loading with the exact same message. When I try to start a new game, the game loads but usually I get a "Fallout 3 has stopped responding" message on a black screen.

I've purchased the GOTY edition of Fallout 3 on Steam and I've been trying to get the game running under Parallels Desktop 7 in a Windows Vista VM on a 2011 MacBook Pro.
